Skipping a Beat by Sarah Pekkanen
If you recall my previous posting about The Opposite of Me I fell madly in love with Sarah Pekkanen's book after Jennifer Weiner promoted her book. Her second book Skipping a Beat makes me stay in love with her.
I absolutely loved Skipping a Beat!!! It begins following Julia, a party planner on the day she found out her husband Michael almost died. Michael makes a dramatic life altering decision causing Julia to think about how they first met, when and how Michael started his company, their wedding. She begins to think about whether she would be able to support herself without Michael, or does she still love him enough to stay with him? You will have to read it and find out.
FYI have a box of tissues ready for certain parts!
The title, Skipping A Beat takes on many meanings throughout this book. It truly is the perfect title!
This book is wonderful! I am looking forward to reading Sarah's future books.
Everyone go out and buy it today!!!!!

I've been wanting to check some books out by Pekkanen, I will have to add Skipping a Beat to my TBR, it sounds like great chick lit.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great book. You should read her first book, Opposite of Me Too. Check out my review for that book: http://queenofreading.blogspot.com/search/label/Opposite%20of%20Me
