I recently read Broken Ferns by Toby Neal. It is the fourth book in the Lei Crime Series. This book follows Lei as a new FBI agent. She and her new partner are trying to solve the case of the smiley bandit. Although this book is enjoyable it is missing the passion and drama that the first three books had. There is no creepy murder point of view. The case that they are trying to solve is juvenile. I missed the drama and passion behind Lei. Ms. Neal does a good job showing the different classes in Hawaii. Overall I was disappointed with this story. I hope that the next book in the series has the drama that was lacking in this one.
